TNERC Tariff Revision - 2025

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) has issued a new tariff order (T.O. No. 6 of 2025), effective from 1st July 2025, revising electricity tariffs across Tamil Nadu.

This revision follows the methodology outlined in Multi-Year Tariff Order No. 7 of 2022, based on Consumer Price Index (CPI) escalation. The objective is to ensure the financial sustainability of TANGEDCO, while ensuring predictable and moderate tariff increases to protect consumer interests.

Exemptions: Certain subsidized consumer categories

Special Incentives & Additional Charges

Power Factor Penalty	Applied to LT & HT consumers with low power factor

Wheeling Charges – LT	Rs. 1.60 / kWh
